I've got older JD plows with Syracuse bottoms. I've gotten the plow points through a JD dealer although they are no longer made by JD. Take some vaseline with you - its going to hurt when you pay for them.

Come in to my shop and complain you yuppie. You better have vaseline cause I'll bend you over. If you can afford a computer to complain about my prices then be ready to pay what good steel is worth.

How come your good steel costs about 3 times what good steel for more modern plow points cost - and its not even good steel - its cast iron for the ones I've been able to get. If you really do have better why not send us an intellegent response about having a better product - it would help everyone who is using the old plows.

Thank you for your intelligent response to this man's legitmate question. Maybe you should put some of that vaseline in your ears, so that a new idea or thought might someday slide into your head.

Try Pikeville Equipment in Oley, PA (610) 987-6277 (Berks County). They got a bunch of NOS JD plow parts in 1999 from another closed dealership. Might still have what you need. Good luck.

Another option would be to find an F125 or F145 in a junkyard, get the frogs off it, and install them on the old plow so you could use throwaway parts on it. I've seen it done, and back in the 50's, Deere offered the 44, 55 and 66 plows with the option of the old style or the High-Speed throwaways, so the frog portion probably bolts on the same way.
