A friend of mine picked up a Ferguson sickle mower,at an auction sale, and we're not sure if some parts are missing, namely we're not sure about the linkage arangement which must raise the cutter bar into a transport position. There also seems to have been some kind of a release mechanism to permit the bar to swing back if an obstruction is hit.Any information regarding how this was all supposed to work, and how it was attatched to the tractor would be appreciated.A feature which might help identify the model is a notched bar attatched to the top link (same as drag type tandem disc).

Hello Luke,

Did you ever resolve the mystery of your Sickle mower linkage? I picked up what may be a similar Detroit Harvester Ferguson Sickle mower for use on my 8N. I cannot figure out the linkage for the chain to lift the cutter. I know I have all the parts since I saw it work on another tractor but wasn't paying close attention to remember how it linked up. Can you help me?

Thanks,

Kevin

If it is a pitman type of mower, 6A-EO-A20 or 6A-EO-B20 for a 6 ft. mower or 7A-EO-A20 or 7A-EO-B20 for a 7 ft. mower, Have quite a bit of information on this mower that was bade by Detroit Harvester, Have 3 of these mowers, It was also sold as a Dearborn model, If this sounds like yours, contact me.

Sounds like an FEO-30. This model does not have a pitman, but a balanced head. My great uncle had one; I may still have a parts diagram for it somewhere. If I find it, I'll try to scan it (I just got the scanner, not real good at it yet) and e-mail the diagram to you.
