Anyone know approximately when the JD 350 3ph rake was made? Is it a decent choice for 20 acres of haymaking? Thanks.

I have a 3 point 350 and it works good but I don't rake very fast. I grew up with a pull type rake so I had trouble getting used to the 3 point setup. I don't like the fact you have to raise it up to back up, the wheels in the back sill not swivel 360 degrees.

Introduced about 1957. They came in 7' width, could be 3 point or semi-integral, were PTO driven and could rake at up to 6 1/2 mph. Not a good match for a 9 foot mower, but if you use 7' they aren't bad. We used a semi-integral one in the 60s to 70s. It did fine work, except whenever you ran those small rear wheels over a rut or a hole, they tended to break castings real easily.
