I'm looking at a 3x16" 3pt moldboard plow. I forgot the name. The owner raddled the name off but I forgot, apparently it's a "known name". I think it says made in Finland. It has large leaf springs over the top of each bottom . Plow looks good. Lots of trash clearance - that's why I'm considering it. anyone have experience with this plow. good or bad. thks

The Scandinavian people really know how to build ploughs. Could be Kverneland, could be Overum, could be Kongskilde, and the heaviest of them all, Fiskars. You better have a really fat wallet when going for parts for any of them. Good Luck

Hi, HM, believe the name you are looking for is "Kvernerland", [sp] they are made in Sweden, about the nicest plowing unit money can buy, but, better have lots of cash for parts, even 'Deere prices pale by comparison! The only way the plow could be better is if it was built in Norway! [big wink]!!! Have a gooder, R.E.L.

Yes, sounds like it. Yes, tag very well might say Made in Norway. Sweden would be good...but I know tag doesn't say Sweden. I think I'll buy it. Price is $400 and it looks new. With our small land the plow wear parts will last 10 years!
thanks.

Thanks for the correction, Ron, [my first name to], should have known that kind of quality would have to be Norse, [another big wink], I would dearly love to have one, some of the nieghbors have them around here, can tell a field thats been plowed with one a mile away, soooo nice and flat, no furrows rideing up on the edge of the next one. Me? all I have is an Oliver fast turn, [stubble bottoms], pulls like a cat by the tail across the carpet in sod, four sixteens, takes ninety four horses in secound, hi range, and a fuel truck on standby. Feel sure you will be well satisfied with the purchase of that particular plow, HM, "Straight furrows, constant depth, and even headlands", have a gooder R.E.L.

It's a Kverneland. 3 bottom 16". CatII 3pt hitch. looks fairly straight. Landsides are thin at the back, but not bad. Tip of each share has a steel nose piece bolted on. These stick downward from the front of the share and are very stout piece of steel (one is loose). Coulters are fine, two grease zerks for the plow beam pivot won't take grease. but all in all, I'm happy. $400 lighter, but I KNOW this plow will take the trash my field has (we chop and plow down sorhgum, Buckwheat, etc). This Kverneland is such a clean design! Still too wet to try out now. maybe in week or two in Wisconsin here. My only doubt is how my 50-60 hp JD 2440 diesel will work with it. I'm sure it has the power, but the front end may be a little light for this plow. Anyone have idea on this? PS; the coulter steel rings like a church bell when tapped.
