Being that the spring equipment sales and farm
auctions are about to begin, what is a good or
average price to pay for a used Sickle Bar Mower
that fits a 3 point hitch on a Ford 3000 diesel?

I'm no expert, in fact I'm just starting out at this farming thing. I've got a Ford 515 mowing machine that works great with my 3000(gas). Dad bought it several years ago, so I don't know what he paid for it. I've been offered as much as a $1000 for it recenlty. A new New Holland runs about $3800 here(East Kentucky), but they are supposed to be a lot better. I have seen older ones that use a pitman arm for as little as $200, but I'd try and stay away from those, they always seem to break at the worst time. Hope this helps. Email me with any other info if you want. Casey
