I'm just getting interested in old machinery and saw this single row (horse drawn I suppose) Oliver planter. It has a solid front drive wheel (pointed) that has teeth on the whole wheel so the planter can be changed for different speeds. It is shaft driven to the planter. It has 2 seed boxes. It was dark and I couldn't see in the bottom of them but am wondering are they both for seed or is one for fertilizer? The condition is real good as the wood handles are in great shape and the paint on the seed boxes of light yellow is very good which makes me wonder how old is this planter and is $125.00 to much to give for it. It has the 2 disk to cut the furrow and then a shovel on each side of the row to cover the seed row. Should there be a wheel to pack it? Does this planter sound as though it is complete? Thanks Elmer
