Would a JD 70 gas ( 48 HP) be able to pull a 12 double disk in Alabama red Clay? Anybody got some idea's? Or should I go with a 10 foot?

Thanks
dennis

It all depends! What is the disc blade size, spaceing, weight of the disc, how deep you will be discing, and a few other things. I'd want to try both on my place to know for sure. Robert

It might pull the 12 ft disk depending on how far you turn it to chew up soil. I think the 10 ft one would be a safer bet.

I have a 70 Diesel and pull a 10 ft disk in heavy clay. It's a nice match. If I put a 2 section drag behind the disk I'm at the limit and wishing for a little more power. I think the 70 Gas might struggle with the 12 ft disk.
