I purchased a NH 9' side delivery rake over the weekend. The owner said it was a 256 but wasn't sure (he bought it at auction few years ago). I'd like to get an owners manual but want to make sure the model before I order it. Any ideas where the ID tag is located? The rake has two rear wheels linked with "drive" shaft between them, two leveling cranks, a trailer jack welded to the hitch (does NOT have a dolly wheel in front), and is painted red (frame) and yellow (rake). The rake works like a champ - just need to know what it is so I can maintain it properly. Thanks for the help.

Ken

standing at the back of the rake looking foward, you will see the gearbox to the left. look to the left of the gearbox on the same beam that the gearbox is mounted and the model/serial number should be right there on a small silver colored plate glued/attached to the beam.

There should be a serial/model plate on it somewhere. My NH 55 has it back by the gearbox somewhere on a frame member I think. Shouldn't be too hard to find wherever it is.

Speaking of New Holland Rakes, does anyone have a source of decals for NH rakes? Balers? thanks D-2
