Did anybody ever produce these diggers built by Allis after they discontinued them? If not, why? The one I have had for 15 years has never needed anything but shovels. I think they were about the best field cultivator built at the time mainly because of the rubber mounted shanks that were quiet and never needed parts. Had an IH Vibra Shank before which was good but always replacing springs and bushings.

The 1400 Series were the latest before the end and were rock solid. Much heavier than the 1200 1300 series. The 1200 and 1300 series made excellent finishing diggers and thoughs rubber clamps never wear out. Had a JD and just thought it was normal maintenance to replace springs and bushings then got the Allis and what a money saver. I wish someone would make new ones cause may out grow 30' I have now and not easy to find large older 1400.

In the heavy clay soils around 'here' they are not popular - the frames were too weak, you hardly see any at auctions without several welded up frame members.

They were one of the few AC machines other than Gleaners that were popular here in this area of New Jersey. After AC died, Vermeer made them and Deutz sold them, painted in that awful green and silver. AGCO bought Allis off of Deutz, and the AC tillage equipment ended up being discontinued after AGCO acquired White and Glencoe. BTW, the AC corn planters have been resurrected by Landoll.
