Got one from TSC. No name brand and was only $200.00 brand new. For me it has worked out great. I only needed for occasional use working on my clay driveway (1300ft). Also have old 1952 JD with limited 3pt lifting(1000lbs and under) so by skimmping on a rugged heavy steel brand has made it more useful than going top of the line. Mind you I'm not trying to dig pond or anything major. Just moves about a wheel barrow full at a time. But is leaps and bounds better than a shovel. Have also used it to move and dump feed into cattle trough.

Borrowed a red painted one from my father-in-law, think he got it fron Tractor supply - Sorry, I can't come up with the brand name. Worked OK, but they do have their limitations. You can only work on the level, or nearly so, backing up into a bank of dirt to load, can be a problem, and dumping can also be a problem if your load is improperly distributed. I hauled lots of dirt with it, it is slow going, as the capacity isn't really that great, but then I was spending almost half a mile on road time. On the other hand, shoveling is no fun either! When working with the bucket too low in respect to the level of the tractor, there is a tendency for the 3pt hitch arms to buckle, often bending the top link. Careful!

If you are going to definitely buy a scoop from Quality, I strongly recommend you buy the King Kutter scoop. It is a better and stronger built scoop than the Howse or what ever else they have.
There are archives on one of the forums on what some of the guys have done to put pulley systems on their scoops to make them easier to dump..
Good Luck

I bought one about 4 years ago and use it some every year. the latch is a weak spot. It appears mine is bent and will not release. Let me know how yours works if you have the time. Drew s/w WI.
