Started Pre-Season Maintenance on my 5' Tiller and found I have a couple broken tines.

Anyone out there know a source for Tines or other parts short of the local blacksmith.

I'd make some myself but i think they must be 4140 plow steel and I don't have the tools with enough 'whoopie' to bend 'em.... Hmm... maybe with the Budd tip..and the 20lb sledge ??

Try "Clean Cutter Tiller"?? in California. They stock blades for nearly all tillers and can custom make anything else. Their number is 1-800-345-2335.

Tines for my HR-6 were $5.81 each at my friendly local JD dealer. If you have an HR-6 (which is a 60" or 5' tiller) I can give you the part numbers. Another friend of mine got quoted a MUCH higher price for tines at her CaseIH dealer, so check around.

Thanks for the reply...

Yes, Mine is a 5'model. It's about 30 years old.. has been through a lot, looks like hell, but people still marvel at the job it does.
(as do I)..

I Run it behind a Massey Ferguson 165 of similar vintage, she really makes the old Perkins snort when tilling full depth !

Thanks again.
