There is only about a foot of the wood handles left on the plow - at the bottom. I have new handles - but don't know how the uppper part of the handles are braced. Seems like something ought to run between the handles at the top.

Does anyone have a diagram of a typical plow of this period which would give me enough clues to fabricate whatever else is missing? Or a reference to a book or magazine?

Or could describe what the handle assembly should look li

Hello: There are two wood dowl braces that fit between the handles and a metel rod near the top dowl. Do you have the metal pieces that are holding the old partial handles. I hope this helps. Drew s/w WI.

The only metal (other than the moldboard, beam, etc) is a brace about a foot above the bottom of the handles which runs from one handle to the frog.

Are these cross dowels like rungs in a ladder? with a metal thru bolt from handle to handle?
