Bought a JD 224T baler last fall. Cleaning it up and lubricating it up over the weekend. I attached it to my tractor to see how it would run and plunger seemed to run very rough. Lots of bouncing around and clanking. After turning it off I looked inside and noticed that the left hand lower track was "warped" for lack of a better term. Had about 4 or 5 waves in it that I did not see on the other side. It appeared that a lot of material had built up under this track between the bolts. Could this be what is causing the baler to run so rough and how should I fix it.I do have an owners manual and did not find this under trouble shooting section. Please help! I have found a lot of good info at this site.

Doug, I just baught a 224 also. Will pick it up in the spring when roads get clear. I'll include my E-Mail address and maybe we can keep in touch and help each other out as we work on these bailers. [email protected]
Try taking the bolts out and removing the guide, then see if you can straighten the guide. If it is to worn and bent to fix probably will have to go see John Deere parts man. good luck, Snuffy

You need the SERVICE manual it covers the type of work you're going to have to do to repair your baler. Available through your JD dealer.
