What kind of problems are you guys having out of M-F balers? Mine has been really good for the last 5 years. The 120 is alot better baler than the 66 NH it replaced, Maybe I'm just lucky or even dumb, but using the 66 and a 273 a freind owns has turned me against NH. I would like to hear about the problems, might give me something to look in to. Thanks Jeff

i have a MF 120 and i like it only problem i have breaking twine in damp hay and a flat tire.I bale peanut hay with it and people say that harder than anything else to bale.peanut hay has tough vines and alot of dirt bales weight on average 55 lbs.I have notice that it has bigger bearings in the crank and plunger area compared to a new holland. I feel like it's strong built baler I like it.

What about the MF 12 square baler? Are they any good? My neighbor has one sitting in a Barn that is falling down. It is a little bit rusty but still very useable. He said the knotter is messed up. I bet the parts for this from AGCO are pricey if they carry them. I am thinking of offering $400 to him. I won't put up more than 10 acres worth of hay. Thanks in advance.

We just bought (2) MF model 10s,and a MF model 12 from a gentleman whose health is declining. One of the model 10s was baling, and the other 10 was used for a "parts" baler. He said the model 12 had a bad knotter, but after removing the hay,and blowing out all the dust and straw, I oiled every thing that moves. I can see the problem,I think the timing has slipped. I tripped the needles and rolled the baler by hand until the needles had traveled as far up as they would go,and stopped when I saw them start to move down. I then took very carefull measurements and compared the two knotters position to the needles, and to each other. One of the knotters was trailing the other. I'll retime it,and run some hay through it to see if that's it,if not I'll move it a little more, and if that's not it,I'll put it back where it was,(I always mark my position),and I'll move the other one to line up with the one I moved first. I love MF haybalers. All you need is a manual, and some patience. We paid $500 for the three and I'll bet you I can have all three baling without a lot of new parts, even the "parts" baler. I would offer $200 for the model 12,if it's all there. Let us know if you get it,and have fun! Barney

I JUST BOUGHT A MODEL 10 BALER. IT HAS SAT FOR A LONG TIME. THE GEARS AND KNOTTERS ALL LOOK NEW. BUT THE TIRE HAD GONE FLAT. SO THE STRIPPERS ROTTED. THE LOCAL AGCO DEALER SAY'S THEY ARE $92.00 EACH!! HE SAY I SHOULD TRY TO MAKE SOME NH ONE WORK. DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT TO YOU?
THANKS
SCOTT CAHILL

I have baled around 40,000 bales with my 120 over the past 16 years. I have spent about $450 on it in that time. I wouldn't trade it, and I'm not complaining! David
