Hello I have two sickle bar mowers . Both have John Deere and Moline on them. One says # 2 the other says big #4 on the hub . Does someone know the approximate age of these? Thank you very much. Dave

I'm not sure what a #2 is, but the Big 4 was/is a very popular horse mower - it is a horse mower, isn't it? Real good horse-powered mower - get it over to some Amish, they'd probably pay you top dollar for it. Or they could help you restore it, if that's what you want to do. I've seen these go for $1000-$1500 in restored condition. Now about the years of production - I'm not sure; not an expert on the subject, but I'd say anywhere from 1920-1940?? Really nailed it down, didn't I? Sam Moore (of Rural Heratige mag fame) could tell you for sure. Sam - where are you?
