I'm not sure where you will find a repair book but you can try JD. They may have reprints of their shop manuals. Knotters in general have not changed much over the years. Many parts on a JD knotter are identical to a New Holland knotter parts. Generally the only problem with knotters is the knives which cut the twine getting dull which requires replacement of the knife arm and havinf the bill hooks stick closed. Often after making a few ties the bill hooks will stop doing that.

My buddie and my self have a 14t bailer. All the parts can be bought right from John Deer. I would say that once the knotters are up and working, we have had the best luck in not greasing them as much as you would think you should. If they are greased to much they will slip and not knot. On the book I don't think you can get a reprint from John Deer. They do make printouts of the area in question. You have got yourself a real good bailer. We haven't missed a stich with 1500 through each year. ed

You can still get the operators manual and parts book from your local John Deere Dealer or order direct from Deere. The operators manual is #OM-E16470 and the parts book is PC-426. The address for direct mailing is John Deere Distribution Service Center Department S/P 1400-3rd Ave. Moline Ill. 61265
