I bought a John Deere two row corn planter. It's in real good shape and that's why I bought it, but I don't know the model. It's not hydraulic lift so I believe it may be a 5o's vintage, but it is a trailer type on rubber. It has a three speed gear box on the front to control density of seed in the row. It uses a ball hitch arrangement that appears to be original. Anybody have any idea of a model number? I'd like to get a manual for it, if I could figure out what to look for. Thanks in advance for any help.

It sounds like a 292. We had one when I was a youngun. Good planters.

I didn't know you could get a 2-row with hydraulic lift. I thought that they were all the trip-cord type, lots of those around here.
