I have an Oliver disc and all three of the different spools have numbers on them starting with 237. Did Oliver make a model 237 disc?

I don't know of a 237. I worked for a White dealer for 3 years in parts and that looks like part of a tillage part number such as 237___B. most of Oliver's tillage part numbers from the late 1950's on was a 7 digit number that started with a 2 and ended with a B. How old is the disc? Does it have wheels or do you drag it? How wide is it? What color are the wheels and decals (if you can tell)? In 1958 Oliver went from green, red, and yellow paint schemes to green and white. Answer all these questions you can and I will try to help. Matt

Thanks Matt, that explains the 237 on the spools. I have no idea how old it is. It has two wheels now but it is built so two more spindles could be added. The wheels are white, the disc is green, no decals. It has a 10'7" wide 8' long perimeter frame made from 5"x1" channel with two more channels from front to back in the center about 11" apart. On top of the frame aross the entire width is a one piece 4" hollow round stock used as an axle to raise the disc. There are hand cranks front and rear to change the cutting angles of the gangs and in the front on top a large handle that sticks up and is used to level the disc. It has two bearings per gang, 1-1/8" round axles and 7" spools.

Thanks for the reply, please let me know if you know what model this is.

You probably have a 251, 252, or 253 series disc. The main difference is total width. Not sure which models which width but you probably have a 251 or 252 (probably 251). A wing fold would be a 253. Yours does not fold and is probably 12 or 14 ft wide. Oliver used that same axle on wider discs and added 2 more wheels to carry the extra weight. All parts are same other than frame parts and length of bolts that go through the blades. Probably built in late 60's or early 70's. Hope this helps.
