i have a 1959 ford 971 with a small frontend loader on it with a single mast and a trip bucket.
it works good except you have to approach squaret to the pile or you can twist the yoke connection. anyway what were these designed for when built?are they still made?

That style was typically for light duty, hay/manure mix. They usually had long points attached to the bucket.

thanx mine does have long points that can be covered and be used as a bucket or remove the sheet metal and expose the points great for picking up large stones and stuff.

does your tractor have a wide front?
i have a 1958 961, wide front with the one arm loader.
i use mine to handle 850# hay bales onto hay racks and have moved 1200# ones but can only lift those about a foot off the ground. i also have built a 7' bucket extension for moving snow. the rear tires are 14.9-28 with fluid and the pie shape rear wheel weights. i wouldn't sell it for anything! i also have a 1956 950 narrow front with a 6' 3 point finishing mower for mowing lawn.

I would like to buy either a manual or a set of plans to build this loader.

yes mine is a wide front. runs great! i use it for hay rides and grading the drive way and moving large landscape stones on the property.
