I have a little genius 2-14's plow, what is the best way to set the hitch? Do you run with plow offset to the right so it follows the right wheel, or keep it centered? Any info would be helpful. thanks

Neither post below gives correct info. Most every older tractor operator manual and plow manual tell you how to do this. It is far to complicated to explain in words on this forum. You need to see pictures along with words to make it understandable. Been there and done that many times.

One other thing to do if possible....The best places to watch and see what is going on is 1)Ahead of the tractor just beside the furrow wheel. 2)Behind the plow to the right... If you have someone who is into it as much as you are I like to have someone else drive while I check out the job I've done to make final adjustments

While there might be a few other adjustments down the road, john d has some good advise to start with in my book.

Been there, done that too.

The old JD plow owners manuals used to have a really good explanation...other poster is right, read, look, then play. It'll take a couple tries til it pulls right.....

Post below gives good advice. Sometimes additional variables come into play.... If the tractor you are using is bigger and heavier than you really need, you can hitch the plow almost anywhere on the drawbar and get away with it, if the plow wheel is lined up with the furrow wheel of the tractor.
If the tractor is closely matched to a plow of this size, you may need to hitch it slightly to the right of center, or put additional weight on the left rear tire of the tractor to provide enough traction in marginal conditions. The furrow wheel of the tractor will almost always grip better than the one that's running in cornstalks, grass, or where a disk has been run.
The plow hitch assembly can be adjusted to allow the plow to follow straight, without much tendency to pull to the left or right.
Experiment a little, and find what works best in your situation!

Set up the plow to where the wheel is in line with the right tractor wheel. This can be did by moving the tractor wheel in (out) or moving the plow attachment. I like to move the tractor wheel and leave the plow attachment in the center that way the tractor doesn't have the tendency to pull sideways so much.Put the right tractor wheel in the furrow and the plow wheel should be there also that way every pass will be the same without having to try and compensate for it all the time.
