A lady just gave me a single bottom turning plow. It dosen't have a coulter or a rear wheel on it. It is a catagory 1 3 point 14" plow. Is this plow missing these items or was it sold like this? It has a sticker from Interinational Impliment Co. from somewhere in Ohio. I have a small 650 john deere that I plan on using to pull the plow. It is a 17 hp tractor. Will I havw any trouble pulling it with or without the missing items?

Thanks,
Southernboy

You might want to make sure your tractor's hitch is a Cat 1 also. It could be a Cat '0' so the plow may not fit. Our church has a JD small tractor with a Cat '0' so I wonder about yours.

Most of the plows like International don't have coulters.

These cheap farm suppliers don't build them to use, they build them to sell.

You should do alright with your Deere. If need be, you can build a coulter on the beam yourself.

From my experience you'll have more problem from the plow forcing your Deere sideways than you'll have with ground penetration. You may have to water your tires or put wheel weights on.
