Are you supposed to use the lift arm stabilizer bars when using a 2 bottom truning plow? I have been told both yes & no.
I have a '64 4000 and a Ford brand plow. Only the left side stabilizer will fit onto the plow.
All advice will be welcomed for this Rookie.

A 3ph land plow does not require stabilizers if tractor & plow are properly adjusted for the conditions.

Tommy I use a 2 sod MF plow behind my Ford 2600. I have had pretty good results using the sway bar on the right hand side. Getting a set of older plows to turn well can be a frustrating experince even for a plowing pro,( which I am most certainly not).I got some good basic info from the Dept.of Ag, a hand out on setting up moldboard plows. Ask one of the older farmers in your area to help you, most would love to watch a novice head into a field, with an improperly adjusted plow. Plowing is my favorite activity here on the farm. Hope it can be fun and rewarding for you too. Roy
