I am thinking of buying a 5 foot KingKutter rotary mower. It seems to be the most reasonable priced, and was wandering if anyone has any experince or comments. Also a 5 foot box blade by KingKutter.

I have one of your "bushhogs" 5' and a "finish"
mover, 5'. Both seem well engineered and work
well but I would like to request your engineers
design "mulching" blades and a discharge port
baffle to block the discharge for mulching. I
have an extra large yard with oak trees. This
would make the mower an even more versatile
implement. Thank you for any consideration on
this request.

I've a 6-foot finish mower that I use behind a 2N.

Works fine. I've heard from others with 8N's that they can mow in 3rd gear with the 6-footer. On the 2N, the tractor has plenty of power left in 2nd gear -- before the grass gets tall enough to bog the engine the blade starts slipping over the grass instead of cutting it cleanly. In my experience, this doesn't occur until the grass is way longer than you should let it get (seed companies usually recommend not cutting more than 1/3 of the length of the grass).

Doug, I had a 6ft. 3 point type for a while. No mechanical problems but it seemed a bit heavy for my 861 Ford. Neighbor has a 5ft. that he uses on an MF30, he's pleased with it.

I bought a 6 foot King Kutter 3 point bush hog several years ago, and it works good. It was also reasonably priced. Would I buy another one? Yes.
