Considering the price of a new or used WOODS under belly mower, has anyone ever tried to bolt, weld, connect two lawn mower decks together and hang them under a farm tractor for mowing pasture fields.

Standard domestic lawn mower decks are real flimsy sheetmetal. I have thought of getting some good sheetmetal and making my own finish cutter. You can get good, strong spindles pretty cheap.

Sure be interested in knowing where to get good spindles cheap. Last I checked, $200-300.

From Agri-Supply 1-800-345-0169 are replacement quill assemblies for mower decks up to 48 inch for under $30. I realize that these are for lawn tractor decks but if one is not going to use them for brush hogging they should give reasonalbe service. Agri-Supply has a web site at www.agri-supply.com. Try to copy and paste this to get to the quill info, it may or may not work. Link
