Anybody have any experience with these units? I'd like to find a good used one if they're any good.

I have a nice one I may want to sell if you are still interested. They work great, but require a tractor with remote hydraulics.

I have a Valby 5" or 6" (can't remember) but do not use it very often. It does not have a power feed and it will cost me approximately $2000 to retrofit it. Power feed allows you to use a smaller tractor because it controls the feed rate. The feed rollers will also grab the brushy material and suck it in without any assistance from the operator. I use the Valby behind a 40 hp tractor. If it had a power feed, I could probably use a 20hp tractor and get the work done twice as fast.

I happen to have a PATU, but have used a Valby. Durn fine unit. As long as the outside looks good, about the only thing that can go wrong with them is the flywheel bearings or the knives. Be sure and size the unit to the tractor you'll be using to run it.
