I have been using a woods belly mower for about 10 years and I just recently had to replace the belt. I was shocked after one mowing that my belt was shreaded. I am sure that nothing was rubbing and that I installed it the way it was previously put on. One thing though I always wondered. Does the belt have one complete turn from the mower to the back PTO. I have looked, and it seems there is no other way to put the belt on. Is there a belt that is manufactured that has a turn made into it? The tractor to my knowledge is a model C or CA , not sure..... Someone please help, I have got to mow !!!!! Thanks Larry

Larry:

I don't have a Woods belly mower, although I spent far too many hours cutting grass with one on an IH Cub LoBoy as a kid.

Anyway, I recall the belt sat on the PTO pulley correctly, with the vee into the pulley, although it passed the smaller pulleys at the turn toward the mower in the opposite direction. If you have too many twists in the belt, it will overheat and shred.

Good luck.
