Need knotter help...they both fascinate and terrify me. One side ties great, the other side makes a very small loop and the cut twine is frayed as though it was pulled apart instead of cut. If I make snug bales, those knots sometimes fail. Any suggestions? Thanks, Glenn

If it's not just a dull knife blade, it sounds like not enough clearance between the back of the bill hook and the front of the knife arm.

While you check that be sure to check the lips on the bill hook, that they are good and smooth, opens right and the swiper arm is going back to the home position. Take the twine out of the knotter and be sure the bill hook rotates freely.

Bend the knife arm away from the bill hook, but when the knife arm lifts, the stripper arm has to touch the bill hook.

Whatever is causing the problem it's either a dull blade, the swiper arm out of adjustment, or the bill hook is'nt rotating freely.

Also check the twine tension. Too loose and it won't cut cleanly. Should be a screw with a spring on it to adjust.
