Woods Finish Mower Problem

I have a Woods RM660 Finish Mower. This thing is constantly leaving a strip of uncut grass approximately 1" wide. The uncut grass is directly inside the left side, (as you are looking at it from the rear) rear wheel. This seems to be inline with where the two blades meet on that side, the other side where the blades meet, do not have this problem. I have tried putting new blades on thinking maybe one of tips broke, but it still does it with the new ones.

Any suggestions? I have noticed that only on that side there is a metal "channel" surrounding the blades could this be part of the problem?

Thanks,

Doug.

Doug; Is the strip in line with the caster wheel if it has casters? Woods manual states that the wheel will lay the grass down and it will not stand back up in time to be cut. their answer is to lift the wheels off. Dennis

Doug, if this is happening when doing a round turn, it could be the blades are not covering at an angle. I've noticed this also with my rider twin blade when making a turn to the right. Good luck, Ron

Yes, it does do it when turning, but it also does it just going straight.

I own a Woods L306 Belly mower and I once in a while get such a problem, it is because the belt needs to be tightened and the belt is slipping over that one end blade, causing it not to cut as well.

Just tighten the belt

Hope this helps!

Karl

Thanks Karl,

I will have to try that, I didn't even think about tightening the belt.

Doug.
