Purchased the 14-49 Dearborn cutter and working to hook it up to a 1953 Ford J., looks like I need to modify some parts for the three point hitch and need some parts to keep blade compressed to main body in center section. Any informantion would be great. Thanks

Keith, I bought a Dearborn 14-16 last year and needed some help finding a manual for it. Like you, I posted a Question on this site and got some information. A fellow guided me to N.News. They have a lot of reprints that you can order from their web site. I found my mower there and ordered a manual. Hopes this helps. Denny.

I recently purchased a Dearborne 14-16 mower. I put new blades on the sickle and it mowed well for a short time and then started balling up. I would like to get a manual for it. I didn't understand what N.news was. Could you direct me to where you purchased you manual?

Also any tips on tricks to keep it from balling up? I mow with a Ford 8N and have tried different speeds. Mainly having trouble with tall heavy grass.

Thanks

Keith: I bought a Ford 515 sicklebar this past spring and needed lots of help with hookup...turns out some parts were missing.

Anyway, I'd strongly suggest buying the manual. New Holland sells reprints of all the old Ford/Dearborn/NH manuals. Mine was $7, which seems to be about standard. Their pubs department's number is: 800-635-4913 They were fast and efficient with both old manuals I've ordered (needed one for an old rake I bought, too).

good luck,
Tom
