I'm fixing a tractor for my father-in-law. It says manufactured by Harry Fergeuson on the plate on the steering assembly. There is also a plate on the engine block but I can't make out all the numbers stamped into it. Where do I need to look on the tractor? Any help is appreciated. Aric

Sounds like a Ferguson. Harry Ferguson had an agreement with Henry Ford to build tractors with Ferguson's invention, the 3 point hitch. That agreement lasted from 1938 (first tractors produced were the 1939 Ford 9N...sometimes known as Ford-Ferguson) until 1946 when Ford told Ferguson to get lost (basically). Ferguson sued and won. He also started making his own tractors. The plate on the dash should have serial number which will help identify which model you have. You can post the info on the Harry Ferguson board and get detailed info. Good Luck.
