Chuck, I don't know what your intentions are for the drill, but if it is for a prairie restoration project, contact the state Dept. of Natural Resources or one of the local chapters of Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, etc. One of them almost certainly has a drill made specifically for planting native grass seeds. I used one several years ago that I got from the DNR. Since I used my own tractor, prepared the ground myself, and supplied my own seed, I was able to use it free of charge - no strings attached. The local chapters of wildlife restoration/preservation groups will also possibly help with supplying some of the seed. Pheasants Forever helped me out with no reservation other than a verbal assurance that I would plant a food plot adjacent to the grassland for wildlife food. FYI be careful with a solid mix of switchgrass. This stuff really provides cover! 8 ft tall and so thick that a man can barely walk through it! The pheasants don't seem to like it that thick - I should have used a mix so the switchgrass isn't too thick. Good luck
