seen a 530 square baler today, stop to ask about it,the guy said he was going to care it off for scrap next week. i need another one for parts, but this one was a wire tie insted of twine.still
had two half rools of wire left, and the baler was
in good shape. only thing missing was the clutch and hub. just sold it he said. wanted 200.00

can i take the wire tie off, and replace with a twine setup on it.
i have a set of twine needles and knotter setup.
would this bolt up to the wire tie baler?

THANKS

I have no experience with wire tie balers. I've never even seen one, nor do I care to quite honestly.
That said I would expect that you could change it over to twine easily enough if you had a like parts baler. I doubt there were any other real differences in the machine other than those related to the knotters or twisters.... but like I said, I have no experience with wire so I could be dead wrong.
If it was me I'd try to chew him down to scrap price and if nothing else you can cut it to pieces and come out of the deal. about 150 bucks would be it's scrap value 'here'.

I was hoping someone else would jump in. I have a 532 baler, and the manual looks like the twine and wire shold be interchangeable, and I know there are some guys out there more knowledgeable than I. I would probably make a offer for it to have around for parts if nothing else. Many of them are going to the scrap now, and supposedly parts for them are getting hard to get. I have not had a problem yet, but no doubt the big companies have a stake in obsoleting parts on the old stuff to sell new. I have had any eye out for a parts machine for my 532 just in case.
