Son has a NH 68 wirw tie baler he has restored two years ago and has baled with it. He has nearly restoring JD model 50 to pull it this year. Now a friend has given him a bale basket to pull back of the baler. Both the baler and tractor are of the 50's era. Wondering about the basket. It has no name on it. Paint is green and yellow. The elevator that takes the bale from the baler is driven off of the left tire on the basket by a friction wheel. There is a back gate that is released by pulling a rope and then the for floor tilts for the bales to slide out. Any idea who might have made it and would it be of the 50's? Think it would be neat to use it when he bales the 20 acres of irrigated hay on small dairy farm. and show at the local tractor show. Thanks.

Hi: I can not remember the Mfg. of the Bale attachment you speak of but I can remember them very well and will say that the 1960"s would be more appropriate time era and I question if a JD 50 will handle the load you will subject it to. I remember a friend had one and his new 460 Farmall had all it wanted to do when the Basket on an IHC 46 Baler was nearing capacity. Good luck with it. JC
