You folks that use tedders, do you have a particular brand you think is head and shoulders above the rest? Never owned or used one but am trying to get as fast of drying time on grass hay a I can so, I'd like to try one but don't want junk. Opinions please.

THe Sitrex RT5200-H is the best value out there in a 17' hydraulic fold tedder. Call Bill Killough in Indiana he will have the best price around 765-825-1439

Kuhn all the way. Of course, I have a John Deere/Kuhn dealer 18 miles away. Ha, ha. That can make a big difference.

Kuhn gets my vote....NH and Deere (now Frontier) paint Kuhn their colors.

Have a GF-22N, small 2 rotor 3pt tedder, great fit for smaller gear.

I've done lots of acres with a 5001T, nice tedder....it's actually the same as the 4 rotor Deeres and NH's.
Have some experience with a Vicon tedder..... ate tines.

We have an OLD Kuhn 4 spindle tedder here at the house and just bought another Fella 6 spindle last year. The Kuhns and Fellas are some pretty well built tedders. I really like the way the Fella folds up and transports, but more the kind of tedding job it does. Set up right, it will go ahead and do a much nicer/better job than the old Kuhn of ours.

I don't have a Kuhn tedder, but the next one I buy will be either a Kuhn or Claas. Kuhn is basically considered to be the gold standard in hay gear, whether it be disc mowers, rakes or tedders. I believe that Claas is of a similar quality. I think you'll find that Kuhn is building the tedders for the major North American manufacturers, so you can get whatever paint color you want on it...

Rod I would seriously consider checking the Pequea out if you get a second, I looked at every available tedder on the market, and I am serious when I tell you the pequea was sitting side byu side to a kuhn. once I saw that, I was completely convinced. Their website does not do it any justice. The tires alone are twice the size, and instead of the digidrive fingers which look a little cheesy to me, they run the universal through it. Hyd. fold, hyd tilt, tapered and color coded tines. I paid 5600 for it brand new, but it will last me 15 years....I hope!!!

Bought a new Deutz-Fahr in the late 70s.....coulda been the early 80s; couldn't keep it together. We baled a LOT of hay back then; it might have been fine for someone putting up only a few hundred round bales per year. Havn't seen it in years; it's somewhere behind the shop with....I'm sure..... trees growing up thru it.

I've got a Deutz needing a gearbox and the couplings. Kept taking baskets off until we were down to a 2 basket then the gearbox died.

before you buy a sitrex, yes they are cheaper, I have done more research that one can imagine. I just bought a brand new Pequea tt4000, and it IS definetly head and shoulders above the rest. It is just built rugged. Side by side comparison to a Kuhn, the 4000 was 2-3 times the tedder and I am not being partial, plus they are the only american made tedder on the market today. Check them out.

We've got a SITREX brand 17ft hydrolic fold that me and my dad bought last year. We love it, no problems or complaints to be had here. I know the Agris brand tedder is just a renamed Sitrex, also a new holland dealer told me that Sitrex makes most of the tedders on the market today. I don't know how true that statement is but the Agris is definately a Sitrex renamed. Hope this helps

I have a Sitrex that I purchased new, and really like how it is built, very stout unit. Others that I looked at seemed to have be a little lite in the construction side.
