I purchased a 530 Hesston round baler in like new condition. Works fantastic. But the manual tie wears me out. Parts for the hydraulic Auto-Tie are over $1000. I"ve got a pretty good idea of how to rig a hydraulic system for quite a bit less. But I keep hearing about an electric tie system using a winch and some relays.

I would rather have an electric system but I can"t find anything specific on how to rig this. Anyone done a conversion like this?

Yes, I saw that post. It tells me that I need an 8" stroke for a hydraulic setup. I've pretty much got the hydraulic thing figured out.

But I've heard some say they used an electric winch and some relays to get the job done. I was wondering if anyone had a detailed discription of how that can be done.

Thanks

The {elec. winch ) is the elec. actuator, mounts on the same pins & brackets as hyd. cly. Uses elec. switch & speed control.
