Field Master Post Hole Digger

I have finally convinced myself that I need to buy a 3 point post hole digger. My local options are TSC and Rural King Supply. The one sold at TSC is made by Field Master and looks to be a heftier digger than the one at Rural King for about the same price. The augers have replaceable blades and points. I was just wondering if anyone has used one of these and what their opinions were.

I have just purchase a Farm Force made by SpeeCo. It is a Model 100 type. I have used it to drill about 20 post holes that were 2 feet deep and 12 inches in width. I had no problems until we ran the bit between two huge roots. We are setting pull posts and corner post on 51 acres. I run the auger with a 50 horsepower Kubbota 4900 4 wheel drive. Works great and there are multiple bits you can purchase. I purchased ours at a Tractor Supply Store. Good luck and stay away from the roots.

Unless I'm mistaken, about what Rural King sells, both are made by SpeeCo. The TSC is a heavier boom, but same gearboxes and driveshafts, both are good medium duty diggers, I don't know that I would recommend one for fencing contractors who will put huge hours on them, but for the typical mile of fence a year type owners, they are good.
