Also, what are the pros and cons on theses machines?

Can they produce a smaller bale, say 40 lbs.?

Pros:
Very good low-mid capacity baler.
Knotter assembly identical to other JD square balers.
Makes nice shaped & consistent bales.
Less sensitive to windrow consistency compared to other brands.
Built to last a lifetime for a small family operation.
Simple operation and maintenance.
JD parts and publication availability.

Cons:
Limited capacity
Pick-up width is narrower than other models, but this is minor

If the machine is in decent condition and has not been beat into submission, it will make you an excellent baler.

This will be my third year baling with this machine and for my small operation, the JD 327 is perfect.

I also have a 327, great baler. Wouldn"t think of trading it for another....

Con would be capacity if doing high volume. I only do 20 acres so not a big deal, probably not what you want if baling 200 acres, but it is plenty fast enough for me...

First cutting with good windrows I can get 4 bales(55lbs) a minute, about 1 every 15 seconds. Most of time it"s just me stacking so we don"t go that fast as I wear out. If there are 2 of us stacking we do.... So it can crank them out, just not like a 348....

You can adjust the length of the bales to get any weight you want if you are not using a pan thrower. You can also loosen the bale to reduce weight. The pan thrower will toss a loose bale into a wagon without it exploding, but it just can not be too loose.
