Possible that you have a later model, Adams pull type or motor grader ? At some point I believe Adams was aquired by Caterpillar and was the beginning of their motor grader line, could be a patent date. Pull types were also offered with a motor to operate the controls I believe, prior to becoming fully powered, not many of those around, you'd have to provide a photo to ID what you've got, hard to figure what it is without seeing it or having a serial/model#.

This 1918 CAT Maintainer's plate reads June 6th, 1918 (Chile); also on the blade reads Machine #M3088; Sales Offices Peoria IL, 50 Church St, NY, San Leandro, CA; Product Catapillar HOLT Combine Harvesters; Russell Rod Machinery; Manufactured by Catapillar Tractor Co. There is no motor it is a pull type blade. I am attempting to get a photo of it and will send it to you once I get it uploaded.

Do that, also some people ( Willie especially) on the ACMOC forum that know some of the older and more obscure models of these pull type graders, appears to be a fair amount of them built and many still around, see them for sale often.

That is just a patent data plate, or it seems, but that machine #M3088 may be significant, should be able to ID this, might just want to post that on ACMOC or ACME forums, lot of these people have collected old literature and photos of these, might be helpful.

That is impossible as Caterpillar Tractor CO. was not formed until 1925.
