What is it worth?

Have located a complete front mount cultivator
for a 501 or 2000 Ford Tractor. Can anyone
give me some information on what it is worth.

The 501 Ford is a offset 1 row high crop type of tractor and they took a special type of cultivator and there were only a couple hundred of that tractor model made so the tractor is very rare and then not every tractor sold was sold with a cultivator so that makes them even more scarce, I have never heard of a 2000 being made in that offset version. The only 2000 that I know of were 2 or 4 row cultivating tractors and those chltivators fit the 700 series, the 900 series and the 2000 & 4000 row crop tractors 1955 to 1964 and the value for them would be 1000% different than for the 1 row for an offset tractor.

I don't know what they are worth, but don't scrap them. Those offset fords are pretty rare, and I I'd suspect that someone would want cultivators for one. Josh

Jimmy: I have to agree with Gary, here in Ontario, if I wanted a set of row crop cultivarors, I'd only have to bid against the scrap dealers. If I bought them on spec that someone may want them in the future, I wouldn't even make current interest rates on my investment.

Aout the only place they have better than scrap value anymore is in potato country.

Hugh, if one of those 1 row offset cultivators ever came up at an auction and it was advertised enough that word was out they had a set then you would have people driving 1-2,000 mile just to try to buy them

I do not agree, someone out there will want it, just hold on to it for a while.

My neighbor has a full set of front/rear cultivators for a Ferguson 50 narrow front. Also would fit a Ferguson 40 narrow front.

Someone out there will want them to show on their tractor even if they never use them.

I believe them to be a bit rare, should bring a few hundred dollars.

Does your neighbor want to sell those cultivators? I've been hunting for a set.

Not that many people will be looking for cultivators specifically to USE, but as an accessory to a restored tractor, they can have a fair amount of value. You just have to find the right buyer. The more uncommon the tractor itself, the more value the cultivators will have.

I am sure he would sell them.

He had a 50 Ferguson, narrow front, he sold the tractor, the cultivators were around back behind a barn and he just forgot about them.

I told him to hold onto them, as I had seen a few Ferguson 40's with narrow front at shows with front mount cultivators and owners seamed proud of them.

Scrap value here in Iowa.

They are not used any longer so supply is higher than demand.
