HELP - Where buy 6.70-15 gription tires for Corn Planter?

Hey Guys:

I have tried for 2 weeks to find 6.70-15 tubeless tires for my corn planter (John Deere 70's model ?). No one here in Texas can find me the "grip" tires that were used. The implement is driven by the tires.

I just checked with my old tire supplier. They have them in stock 6ply tube type. Any local FARM tire supplier should be able to get them for you.

Titan/Goodyear show a tube type. they are I-3 traction implement.

I've seen plenty of them with plain implement tires on them. Our 495A has some very worn and very old light truck tires on it. Not much grip left on them, but it's enough to run the planter.

What you want is a R-1 tire (has tractor grips)
got close, these fit my big case garden tractor.
700-16.

Might check with the company as this was the closest thing I found to your size.

John Deere may have had the tires on your planter special made for this planter.

you are right those tires are hard to come by.

I bet you could use some old heavy mud grib truck tires in or near that size.

may be your only option.

my neighbors drill is operated by the wheels (6 row) and it has smooth impliment tires that drive the systems and it works well.

You might try Nebraska Tire. If they don't have it I know that Gemplers does but they are expensive. I really don't know if you would need that type of tread as the planting units should turn easy enough that a smoother tread tire would work. www.gemplers.com, 800-382-8473
