Caroni rotary tiller

I broke the drive chain on my 60" caroni tiller. A #80 master link doesn't quite seem long enough as far as the pins go in relation to the roller. Can I just put a hole new #80 chain on it or do I need to buy the expensive chain that the factory recommends? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks,

Robert

That should be a 16B British Standard roller chain. Links are available but you will probably have to go through an industrial maintainance supply to get them. Here is a link to HKK's catalog page. OK, I'm too new to post a link, but if you do a google search for 16B roller chain something should show up.

If the pins are to short, try an 80 heavy duty conn link.

Its probably a metric chain. The dealer may be the only handy source.

Different size(pitch) roller chains require different sprockets that the teeth are spaced different. I recommend getting correct coupler link or correct new chain.

Any idea what size the chain actually is? The tiller is made in Italy and there is no marking on the chain in regards to size.

what do you mean by repair link? One from Caroni or a regular 80 chain?
