3x8 SAE tie-rod cylinder is what we use. You can also use a hydraulic toplink cylinder as well.

I agree with the cyl size. This is the typical farm hyd cylinder. the 8 part is the important one, a little thinner or fatter shouldn't matter as long as the tractor can move it.

Had to reread your message a few times, you mean a hyd top link would work in that spot? You can't use a hyd toplink cyl _with_ the sissors lift, as it connects directly to the tractor - it doesn't use a top link at all.

third party image

A Fred Cain scissor lift can be used with a fixed toplink, hydraulic toplink and/or a hydraulic cylinder with clevis ends and 1" pins. In the picture you can see the piece that mounts on the lower lift arms can be turned around for use with a toplink.

Thanks - I bought one from you.

They won't work with a hyd top link afixxed to the tractor tho, is what I was getting at.

The toplink (fixed or hyd) would be used in place of the hyd cylinder, not as one normally does on the tractor itself as the actual top link.

Pretty simple machine, with a lot of different agngle designs to it. Wish they had made the bottom 2 pegs screw-in, could put small forks on it & have a forklift - suppose that opens up a whole can of worms as to people overloading it.
