Hello all. I"m going to an auction tomorrow and there is a NH 848 round baler I am interested in. I do all square bales now and would like to do some rounds, but I have never used a round baler. It appears to have the chain oilers on each side, everything looks really good as far as wear and tear. It has an electric cord that comes out of one side, goes around the tongue and hooks into a small electric motor on the right side. I saw no plug anywhere. It also has two hydraulic lines. It is net wrap. Can this baler make a 4x4 bale, and what is the deal with the wire? Any info on the baler or what else to look for would be greatly appreciated. Seems like a real clean unit and may be within the budget. Thanks very much.

Make sure ya get the PTO shaft and that bale command box. Could be stored in the twine box? Without these two items, the machine is totally worthless.

Bales are just under 5' and they are a nice little baler.

The 848 is a 4'x4.5' baler. I didn't know that they ever had net wrap but I'm not up on the options of those balers. Mabey the later ones had it.
The cable is probably a power cable for the twine mechanism or possibly a bale command unit which may or amy not be hidden in the twine box at the moment, or missing completly...
