Hello. I see a lot of sourcing and wisdom here. I have my Dad's 1947 Farmall A with the bottom plows. Dad is gone now and I can't find the hitch he took off when he put the drawbar on it. Is there more than one way to hitch the plows (like using another make of hitch)? Does anyone know where I can find the hitch assembly so I can use the plows?? Suggestions whould be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I went to a farm show today, guy had a number of Farmalls, including a great looking A. So I ask him about the plow attachment.

Of course he had a complete set of cultivators for the little tractor, but no plow.

However, he had seen one and started explaining how the plow hitch attached. He said it fit up under the front of the tractor and went all the way to the back of the tractor attaching to the plow.

It must be a large item with lots of long metal strips.

Hope you find the attachment as it appears not just everyone, even Farmall collectors have one of these plows for the little A.

This picture should give you some idea how it connects to the tractor. This is the 16-inch plow. Picture isn't too clear since it was taken with a Poloroid camera in 1976. Hal

Wow... it's been awhile since I saw my Dad hitch those plows and at 54 years old I think my memory may have faded! Thanks for any pictures sent. That's a big help in visualizing things. I was NOT looking for a hitch that looked like that! I will look around the property again. Now, if anyone knows where to get one I will still be interested if I come up empty handed.
Thanks to all for your helpful replies.

I know where you can get the hitch here in Oklahoma.

You might have it and not recognize it. It is a double bar that is wide and off set on one end and narrower on the other. The wide end pin connects to the two round eyes just behind the front axle. E-mail is open, let me know if you need the guy's phone number who has that part.
