Found a older belt ranch hand round baler (it's also marked vermeer) at a local dealer. Has hyd bale tension. Uses two hydraulic hoses with a rope you pull which switches a hyd box back/forth to send fluid either to the rear gates to to the hydraulic tie. Can't remember the exact model humber, think it has HD after it. Think its a 4' wide baler. Couldn't find a corresponding vermeer number to get specs.

Anyone know anything about them and when they were made?

They are called Farmhand, usually red in color, and their design is very similar to a Vermeer F & H series balers. They do have different bearings and shaft sizes due to being manufactured outside the USA. You can have some parts problems matching them to a Vermeer equivalent. Many of the Vermeer parts are exactly the same but 15% are not the same. The Farmhand balers do work and are usually worth $1,000 less than the Vermeer equivalent.

Bought my first round baler today. A Vermeer/Farmhand 504F. So is it a Farmhand or Vermeer brand? It was yellow at one time. I need a manual, can anyone give advice. Dealer also told me I can bale a 3ft-5ft roll. Is this true? I dont know anything about balers, obvious huh? It ran well in the lot.
