rear blade for JD2150

I (think) I need a rear blade that my John Deere 2150 can handle. We live a bit off county maintenance, and I need something I can keep road in order and pull ditches. Maybe some material smoothing from time to time and pushing the occasional pile of brush.

Ok, a lot of brush.

The tractor already has a 143 loader on the front end. I would like something I don't have to drag out wrenches every time I want to tilt, angle or offset the blade. I've thought of a hydralic setup, but again, am not sure what's out there or (more to the point) what's decent.

Opinion, suggestions, etc. much appreciated. Also, if a rear blade is not what I need, I'd appreciate that advice as well.

if you get the chance mount up the blade before buying and get one that is short enough to rotate 360 while mounted

from Northern Tool (or whatever they're called)?

Also, how much blade would a 45hp tractor handle?

could it go 8'?

I have a Rhino T72 rotary cutter (brush hog, whatever its properly called) and the tractor handles it fine . . .

i have had a couple of them a pull type 6 ft and a 5ft 3point. i had good luck with both of them hit several stumps cut stuff at size i shouldnt of been didnt seem to faze either one of them for a cheap brushhog i would say there worth the money . RICK

i also have a 5ft. blade kk brand got it about 3 yrs ago.since then i have probably skidded about 200 trees out of the woods mostly locoust for fence post the rest firewood for my dad. it has held up very good for what i have used it for. RICK

7 foot, get a heavy duty one, not a tractor supply jerk-off.

Woods and bush hog makes a heavy old balde which should be great for your application.

I'd look at John Deere but green paint costs too much.

I was just out cleaning up the woods from last winter's ice storm. I use a 7' ARPS on my 3020. It angles, reverses, tilts, manually and works well. Believe they are sold by New Holland now. Not that bad to get off and move it to another setting. Good bulldozer in reverse.

Also use it on the driveway to do like you want.
Paid $400 15 years ago used but in really good shape.
