Probably not,
But if you are looking at buying a corn picker, my experience has been, get a late model New Idea, they do a great job and you can get parts for the machine.

I always enjoyed picking corn, would have been nice to have a cab tractor with air.

Have a good day,

Pixall makes a 1 row sweet corn picker, 4 row self propelled sweet corn picker, and uses a regular head to pick ear corn for seed. If you dont need it husked , then you could find a good corn head, make a frame and an elevator and pick it that way.

Not yet but with all the talk about using corn cobs to make ethanol, It's just a matter of time before the big three start making them again. I would imagine the new ones will not resemble the traditional picker we all remember.

Current development projects are to recover cobs from combines, to use for ethanol production. I can"t imagine anyone going back to, nor have heard of any research projects, picking on the ear, just to save the cobs. Farmers would never go that way again. Market would not pay for it.
