cultivator as a chisel

i bought a 16 foot 7 row cultivator for my food plots, my question is can i use it as a chisel plow also instead of buying a chisel plow, i have a bottom plow for turning old hayfield but i dont want to have to do that every year, i will be planting corn, soybeans only 6 acres for deer plots only, thanks for the advice

Probably a 6-row cultivator. (Row crop cultivators have a 1/2-row on each end)

As stated by others, a cultivator ISN'T a chisel plow. 2 different animals. You MIGHT be able to use a row crop cultivator as a field cultivator, but in any event, NEITHER will be a true chisel plow.

a seven (7) row cultivator? i don't think so, but if you want to use a cultivator that is meant to plow fields of growing crops the change all the points out to some small chiesel plow type real narrow points. these will take the ground better and will astill catch some stubble but not as bad as plows points with wings. depending on if the ground is in "case" or not then it may take several passes to get the results you want.

As paul says, they're 2 different animals; chisel plow is for primary tillage, field cultivator is for secondary tillage. For six acres, you might make it work by making multiple passes.

There is a field culivator, a row crop cultivator, and a chisel plow. That all are different from each other. (Different names in different regions, just 'here'....)

For a deer plot on 6 acres, you can use a field cultivator to work up the ground if it was already broken up the previous year (not sod). You might have some trouble getting corn stalks to flow through one, a disk would work better in that case.

I haven't worked my bean ground the past 3 years in fall - one time through with a field cultivator, & plant corn is spring. You should be able to work 6 acres of deer plot. :)
