Anyone know the quality, history, or parts availability for the Long brand? I'm looking at a used 72" 3-point finish mower, but one blade spindle won't hold the blade tight.

I was wondering if that brand was made by another maker still in business. It has 2 rear wheels, a front roller, & side discharge. The belt-drive system is flat to the deck.

Jeff

i know long got bought out by farmtrac and theyre bellyup but if you got a fartrac dealer nearby they mite have parts...or send me a pic and dimensions and i'll check my suppliers for something that'll bolt up.

also if the blade spins on shaft could just have gotten loose and wore the blade down some...a thicker washer and a new blade may be all you need.

Here's a pic of the mower. Any idea when Long got bought out by Farmtrac? Trying to get an idea how old this thing is.

From what the seller tells me he thinks the spindle will have to be rigged or replaced, but he's not "handy" enough to do it.
