Change baler from wire to twine

Has anyone ever tried to change their baler from a wire to a twine system? Changing out the knotter assembly?
I just bought a New Holland super 68 with a wire setup, and my wife thinks the twine is much less hassle. So I"m wondering if it possible at all - has anyone successfully changed a baler from wire to twine. And, was it worth the hassle? Seems like just buying a whole new baler might make more sense.
Any input is welcome! Thanks!

I agree. Would be simpler to trade balers. I would try to find someone who is doing some commercial hay and try to trade off. Only if the twisters are completely wore out would I change the one you have. Oh, and by the way, if you intend to use plastic twine, make sure the needles and knotters are case hardened, otherwise plastic will eat them up.

Have done a couple and trust me it would be cheaper to buy a twine baler. You would have to buy a complete baler to do the conversion anyway. Complete knotter stack, needles, and needle yoke assy with all related parts new is almost cost prohibited and buying used can sometimes be just as expensive.
